1) Munnar Top Station

Located about 32 kilometers away from Munnar, the Top Station’s main attraction is the low lying clouds amidst a foliage that soothes any who witnesses it. This place is an undisputed testament to Kerala’s natural beauty. The Top Station also has historic significance, being known as a transhipment point for the delivery of tea to Tamil Nadu that Munnar is renowned for.

2) Tata Tea Museum

As mentioned above, Munnar is known for its tea and is pretty famous among tea lovers across the globe. As a matter of fact, the plantations are what attracts people to the area over the years. The Tea Museum showcases antiquities including the famous burial urn excavated from the Periyakanal Estate area. The urn dates back to the 2nd century AD. The museum also ensures that the legacy of the plantation workers is recognized publicly.

3) Eravikulam National Park

The Eravikulam National Park is home to a variety of flora and fauna, and is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The legendary Neelakurinji flower seasonally carpets the park in blue making it one of the most amazing sceneries any travel junkie shouldn’t miss. The vast expanse is also a great eco-tourism destination where you can partake in a number of leisurely activities. 

4) Atukkad Waterfalls

Munnar is home to one of the most majestic waterfalls in Kerala - the Atukkad Waterfalls, nestled just 2 kilometers away from Munnar. The waterfall is surrounded by beautiful hills and lush jungles with absolute serenity shrouding it. 5) Mattupetty Dam

Situated 1700 meters above sea level near the Anamudi Peak, the Mattupetty Dam is a strong gravity dam constructed for power generation and water conservation. But it’s more popular as a vantage point to soak in the fascinating beauty of mist-covered hills at Munnar. Because of the abundance of water in the area, the environment is home to many bird and animal species.

6) Pothamedu View Point

The Pothamedu View Point is 5 km off Munnar. What makes this one special include stretching hills that adorn the region and big, green mountains. Keralites often refer to this viewpoint as Malayali’s Own Switzerland. The place gives you a panoramic view, and if the climate obliges, you will also notice the Muthirapuzha River and Idukki Arch. We recommend this place if you want to watch the sunrise or sunsets at Munnar. 

7) Echo Point

Munnar Echo Point is located 15 kilometers from Munnar and, as the name suggests, is known for its enthralling illustration of echoes that reverberate across misty hills and lush green trees.

The Echo Point is the confluence of three famous South Indian mountain ranges -Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and the Kundala ranges.
